Carinbisa, a company with national presence and a benchmark in the wood and wood-aluminum (mixed) window sector, has extensive experience in high-performance, certified products. It has been the only wooden window manufacturer in Spain with the AENOR “Marca N” product certification since 1995, a member of ASEFAVE and the Passive House Spain Platform. Carinbisa has now certified its V92 Wood-Aluminum (mixed) series as a phB component by the Passive House Institute.
The V92 mixed window is the first in Spain to be certified as a phB component using PINE wood with a conductivity of λ = 0.13 W/m·K. This is significant because it means even better thermal performance can be achieved by using lower-conductivity woods like SPRUCE (λ = 0.11 W/m·K). The certification is available in the iPHA components database at the following link: http://database.passivehouse.com/en/components/window_details/606
This mixed window features the following frame thermal transmittance values (Uf):
Pine (λ = 0.13)
Spruce (λ = 0.11)
Jambs
1.01 W/m2K
0.91 W/m2K
Head
1.01 W/m2K
0.90 W/m2K
Sill
1.02 W/m2K
0.91 W/m2K
Therefore, the same phB component certification can be obtained with the window without aluminum cladding, made entirely of SPRUCE wood, as it offers even better thermal insulation than the PINE mixed version.
Currently, CARINBISA has installed windows in several buildings that have achieved Passivhaus certification, both new builds and renovations. Highlights include the 100x100 madera offices (first Passivhaus in Madrid), the Castelledefells Passivhaus, the Agoncillo Passivhaus, and the passive renovation of the Germans Riba School in Ordino (Andorra). Additionally, CARINBISA has manufactured windows for many buildings rated Class A in energy efficiency, including multi-family housing like the 95 homes at Roc Boronat in Barcelona, and public facilities like the El Roure Civic Center/La Ginesta Library in Begues.
CARINBISA continues to be committed to manufacturing high-quality, high-performance products. The V92 series is not only ideal for passive house construction, but is also used in projects requiring high acoustic insulation—an area where it earned recognition at the 2014 VETECO Awards.
