CASA HH Matadepera: sustainable architecture, wood and energy efficiency

CASA HH Matadepera is an example of contemporary architecture where wood, natural light and energy efficiency are integrated into a single construction proposal. The project, developed by BAO. Arquitectura and built by House Habitat Casa Pasiva, is located in Terrassa and responds to a growing trend: the construction of healthy, sustainable and low-energy-consumption homes, optimized from the design phase.

DJ68 Wooden Windows: efficiency, design and warmth

In this project, we participated by supplying our DJ68 wooden windows, manufactured from laminated KKK pine and finished with a 100% transparent varnish. This solution enhances the natural expression of the wood, bringing warmth to interior spaces without compromising key technical features such as thermal insulation, structural stability and durability.

Wood joinery not only fulfills an aesthetic function, but also becomes an essential element within the building’s thermal envelope, directly contributing to energy efficiency and indoor comfort.

Biopassive construction and Passivhaus criteria

House Habitat Casa Pasiva stands out for its experience in the development of passive houses and biopassive homes with timber structures. Its methodology combines:

  • Natural and sustainable materials
  • Industrialized construction
  • Passivhaus standards
  • High energy efficiency

The objective is clear: to create almost zero energy consumption (nZEB) homes with high levels of thermal comfort and indoor air quality. This philosophy fully coincides with our approach, which has allowed continuous collaboration on sustainable projects for more than 20 years with House Habitat Casa Pasiva.

Comprehensive architectural design: BAO Arquitectura

For its part, BAO. Arquitectura brings a global vision to the project, where every element forms part of a coherent whole. Its approach integrates architecture, interior design, landscape and materials, creating balanced and functional spaces.

In CASA HH Matadepera, this vision translates into:

  • Maximizing the entry of natural light
  • Seamless connection between indoor and outdoor spaces
  • The prominent use of wood as a unifying element

Exterior wooden joinery in passive houses

In the context of a passive house, exterior joinery plays a strategic role. Windows are an active part of the building envelope and must guarantee:

  • Airtightness
  • Dimensional stability
  • Durability against external agents

The installation of custom-made wooden windows therefore requires a precise technical approach tailored to the project, ensuring compliance with the efficiency and comfort standards required.

DJ68 Series: a technical and aesthetic solution

The DJ68Series responds to these requirements through a refined design and advanced performance. The use of laminated pine improves the stability of the assembly, while the transparent finish preserves the natural beauty of the wood.

The result is a range of windows that:

  • Integrate with the architecture without competing visually
  • Frame exterior views
  • Regulate the entry of natural light
  • Improve thermal and acoustic comfort

A project built on collaboration and trust

We would like to thank House Habitat Casa Pasiva and BAO. Arquitectura for the trust they placed in our team to participate in this project. CASA HH Matadepera is a clear example of how collaboration between professionals committed to sustainability can result in high-quality, energy-efficient homes adapted to today’s needs.
